Paws on Tour Day 2: A Day of Adventure in Silloth: Exploring with Our Furry Friends
29/04/2024
Day two of our Paws On Tour adventure brought us to the charming town of Silloth, where the sun greeted us with its warm embrace as we landed and parked our Fun Bus. With a total of 28 legs on this tour—my four dogs and my friend's two—we were all set for an unforgettable day.
As we set off along the beach edge, the soft sand beneath our feet whispered tales of the sea. However, mindful of the safety of our furry companions, we stuck to the footpath at the top of the beach. The PawFecter Crew, as we fondly call our pack, were unleashed in pairs or individually at first. Managing their behavior in different environments is crucial for their safety and enjoyment. For instance, Lily can get overstimulated in certain settings, and when Clover and Lily are together, their prey drive can kick in, especially when they're in competition mode. It's my responsibility to ensure they stay safe and focused on the adventure at hand.
As we continued along the route, the landscape unfolded into a breathtaking vista, offering a safe haven for our dogs to explore to their hearts' content. Their joy was palpable, evident in their wagging tails and playful antics as they discovered the new surroundings. Despite encountering other dogs along the way, true to their nature, they remained unfazed, choosing to focus on the adventure with their pack.
Our journey led us to Grune Point, where a turret stood as a silent sentinel against the passage of time. With every nook and cranny sniffed and explored, we forged ahead, tracing our steps back in a slightly different direction, but reconnecting with our initial path further along. As we made our way back to the Fun Bus, the heavens opened up, showering us with a refreshing downpour—a fitting end to a day filled with adventure and exploration.
Silloth, with its pristine beauty, was a revelation—an oasis of serenity we had yet to discover. It was a privilege to witness our furry friends revel in the splendor of nature, reminding us of the simple joys that life has to offer. Until next time, Silloth, thank you for the memories.
We returned back to camp and set up our van for our nights sleep.
We then headed up tp the local pub for a second visit of our holiday. This stime the Pawfeetr Crew were a lot more relaxed and setled down very quickly. The key this time was to stop everyone coming over to greet the exciting group. This is something I experience a lot as we are a very strange phenonemom, 4 spaniels and a human, not something you see out and about generally! So everyone likes to come and say hello.
And to all fellow adventurers, may your journeys be filled with as much wonder and delight as ours.
