Rally Trials 08/09/2024

On Sunday we took part in a Rally Trial, held in Newcastle but my new friend Cris from Diamond Dog Training. We left early as the great North Run was on the same day, and we were going to need to get through. On arrival we had a walk around the local area to stretch our legs.

We also too Wendy and Jax with us, Jax was taking part in his first trial and so a little nervous understandably.

So what is this Rally that I keep banging on about! Rally is a non competitive pet dog sport, accessible to EVERYONE. The whole point is to have fun while training your dog. All the skills you use in Rally are the basic skills you train your dog, Sit, down, walk, wait, turn, stop and loose lead. Sounds easy right? Guess again, when you are working around a course, no taught lead, no luring, one word cue and one hand cue aloud at each station, it is quite challenging. My rally Club are a great group and very dedicated to their dogs and my goodness we have a giggle.

So I took PawFecter foursome, and Wendy took Jax, we came home with a haul of rossettes it was quite emotional. Now I personally get very little time to train with my dogs so all things considered they were all brilliant.

All the dogs achieved, all the dogs enjoyed it and all the dogs got a treat walk on the beach on the way home. Super proud of everyone.
