Paws on Tour Day 4 : Discovering Hidden Gems: Exploring Hamsterley Forest's Tranquil Trails

Day four of our holiday brought us to one of our favorite local treasures—Hamsterley Forest. However, instead of treading familiar paths, we embarked on a journey to uncover new routes for our Train on the Trail Events. Setting out from the Grove Car Park, we eagerly followed the winding course of the river, venturing towards the far reaches of the forest.

As we meandered along the trail, the melodic sound of cascading waterfalls serenaded us, adding to the enchantment of our 8-mile adventure. Despite the earlier drizzle, the weather was gradually clearing, revealing breathtaking vistas that seemed almost surreal. This secluded part of the forest, with its tranquil ambiance and panoramic views, felt like a well-kept secret waiting to be discovered.

The tracks, sturdy and secure underfoot, offered a sense of reassurance as we navigated through the wilderness. While the remote location posed challenges for some dogs, particularly with the heightened presence of wildlife, our PawFecter Crew remained unfazed, gracefully embracing the rugged terrain.

Excited by the prospect of sharing this hidden gem with others, I couldn't help but anticipate the upcoming Train on the Trail Events scheduled to commence in May. This longer route promises a full day's adventure, complete with breathtaking scenery and the thrill of exploration. Participants are encouraged to bring packed lunches, prepared to immerse themselves in the wonders of nature and the camaraderie of fellow adventurers.
