Puppy Training FAQs
What is pay-as-you-train?
Pay-as-you-train allows full flexibility for when you attend your classes. this is a totally unique way, and are designed for my clients to be able to fit puppy training around their lifestyle, but still be able to commit to their four-legged friend and their learning journey. It is important that young dogs have fun, and learn at the same time.
How many sessions will my puppy need?
Every puppy is different, so there’s no fixed number of classes. Puppy training is a journey, and consistent practice makes a real difference. Regular sessions give you ongoing support and guidance as your puppy grows and navigates new challenges.
Where are classes held?
Puppy training classes are held at the PawFecter School for Dogs, 91B West Auckland Road, Cockerton, Darlington, DL3 0LF.
If you’d prefer support in your own environment, you can also book a one-to-one home visit, where I will travel to your home to work through specific challenges with you and your puppy.
Why is my puppy being so naughty?
Puppies are not being naughty. They are simply learning about their new environment and exploring the world around them. With the right guidance, patience, and training, these early behaviours become opportunities to teach your puppy the skills they need for everyday life.
Why is my puppy so aggressive?
Puppies are rarely aggressive. More often they are showing behaviours that can be easily misunderstood, such as overexcitement, frustration, or uncertainty. With the right guidance and training, these behaviours can be understood and managed so your puppy learns more appropriate ways to respond.
Client Feedback
My cockalier, Gilbert, has been spending with Claire at Pawfector since he was 14 weeks. He went to a puppy social, then to puppy training, and now he enjoys the day school on an ad hoc basis. He LOVES going, and comes home happy after every interaction. Even better, he’s learning new things and reinforcing his (increasingly) good behaviour. I really appreciate Claire’s calm and positive training, and have got so many tips on training, and on the importance of engagement activities. Gilbert is a well-rounded and happy boy, in no small part because of Claire’s support. Thoroughly recommend.

Claire has been amazing at training our 6 month old cockapoo. We have attended day school, weekend play sessions and social walks which are all tailored for different needs and great to meet other dog owners. Claire has given so much advice to support our young son bonding with our puppy. We have previously used other dog daycare facilities which do not compare to the service and training Claire provides ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
